I LOVE a good food market, and what a good food market this is!!
CP's Saturday market brings locally produced, low carbon food to South East London.
It's not huge but you get the feeling that every stall has been picked for its supreme quality.
There's an interesting macrobiotic yoghurt stall, a 'deli' stall selling vibrant salads, whopping great scotch eggs and other savoury treats, a fish stall with a variety of fresh delights from the sea, a stall of the yummiest, sweet baked creations you've ever seen, a stall selling gluten free pasta - stuffed with various delicious combinations, a local fruit and veg stall and a fresh bread stall.
It's all achingly middle class (and equally aching on the wallet!) but the food is divine and it's a first class Saturday afternoon activity. -

Good atmosphere, accompanied by background house music. We had very fresh Maldon rock oysters to start with a dash of lemon, followed by medium rare sirloin steak with bearnaise steak with tenderstem broccoli & chilli and fresh whole gilthead bream with parsley sauce with french fries. Food overpriced but tasty!
